Glaze a 3D Printed Ceramic Vase

About this workshop

Add your own colour and finish to a unique ceramic vase made on our ceramic 3D printer. Each vase has been printed layer by layer, giving it a distinctive ridged surface that looks great with glaze pooling and breaking over the texture. In this session, you'll choose a vase and explore different glazing techniques, including dipping, brushing, layering colours and wiping back to highlight the printed lines. We'll talk through how glazes change in the kiln so you can plan the look you're going for. You don't need to have attended the previous 3D printing workshop to join. The vases are ready and waiting, so just come along and get creative. As with all our sessions, we'll start with a short health and safety introduction and finish by cleaning down the space together, helping you build good studio practice. No experience needed, and all materials are provided. Your vase will be fired after the session and ready to collect at a later date.
